Easter is the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus from the tomb on the third day after his crucifixion. The week leading up to Easter is called Holy week or Passion week. It is celebrated on April 12th. When we think about Easter Bunny comes to mind. There are several reasons for the rabbit, or hare, to be associated with Easter, all of which come through pagan celebrations or beliefs. Traditional Easter dishes include seasonal produce as well as symbols of spring such as lamb, ham, eggs, asparagus, spring peas, hot cross buns and sweet breads & carrot cake. Happy Easter!
