A learning style is one’s preferred method and way of learning. Kinesthetic learners are hands-on learners who prefer learning by doing, such as drawing, building, moving, etc.
In order to determine whether you’re a kinesthetic learner, try answering the following questions:
Do you prefer active participation in ESL activities over learning the theory?
Are you very expressive (i.e.: big hand movements and gestures) when you speak?
If your answers are affirmative, it is likely that you are a tactile learner.
Kinesthetic learners better understand, absorb, and store new information through hands-on activities rather than through verbal or visual representations. They prefer class activities that require moving around and mingling. They also tend to like field trips and projects.

- Group projects
- Educational board games
- Computer-based activities
- Whole-class writing activities on the whiteboard
