Labor day is an annual holiday to celebrate the achievements of workers. it has origins in the labor union movement which is eight hours of work, eight hours of recreation and eight hours of rest. It is a day off for the general population and schools and most business are closed. Canadians who are fan of football will spend a large portion of weekend watching the Labor Day classic matches live or on TV. The Labor Day Classic consists of three games between high ranking teams in the Canadian football league. One match is played on the Sunday before Labor Day and two on Labor Day.
